I just moved in about 6 weeks ago. Once I finished unpacking the essentials, I noticed that the garden needed weeding. It was far too hot to even consider starting on that task though. Once it started cooling off some (I think today's high was 83), I started contemplating. The first thing that I noticed was that weeding was the least of my concerns. I had a large, hideous plant that was taking over.
A few days later, I started weeding a bit, and tried to pull some of the pieces of this atrocity from the ground. It would not pull. I shoved some of the branches out of the way and eventually found the main "stalk" which is really a trunk. It was as big around as my arm. Clearly, I needed something sharp to cut this stuff with. So, Saturday, I went to the PX and bought some tools. I now have this little pair of clippers.
So, for now, here are the Before Pictures. So you can see the horrendous "garden" in all its glory.
