Its Almost Spring!

And spring means garden fixing!
If you've been around here for a while or have dug through the archives, you've read about my ugly garden. And my attempts to make it better.
I haven't touched it since then. The kids dig holes in it sometimes. Some little weedlings have sprouted again in the strangly springy winter we've had.
But today, a lovely thing is happening. The yard service is back. They're working on gardens today. They just brought a few loads of stinky dirt and mulch (it stinks like chemicals, not poop, i'm thinking some pesticides are mixed in there?) and they spread it all around! Its the ugly mulch - just dark dirt and ugly wood chips, I think the bag I bought is better looking stuff, but this stuff is free. Its the stuff that, after baking all summer, will turn to an ashy gray. But its free. Now there's a guy out there blowing off the sidewalk. Aaric keeps running out the door to look at it and stick his hands in it and was not happy to be shooed inside by the blower man.
Now as long as they don't plant anymore of those gigantic ugly plants, we'll be alright. And I'd appreciate it if they'd dig up those dead bushes, but that's probably too much to ask. Mostly though, I just hope the black widows stay away.

Ooooh! Free mulch? Will they plow up the mass of weeds and crap that came with the house, too? You're far more determined than I am. I haven't even touched the ugliness that is our front lawn, and I'm not even pregnant!

Well, you know it would make too much sense to pull up all the weeds ahead of time. Its still stinky too.
