The tree is set up. As in put together, not decorated yet. Decorations are waiting until Michael gets home, but the kids were going crazy for the tree. So I took it out of the box and set it up. I tell you, these nifty new trees with hinged branches are way cool. I always loved putting the tree together, but not having to get the branches stuck through the holes is just much nicer. You just untie the strings around the branches and they fall into place! You still have to go back and seperate all the little branches and shape it. And this one, it kicks butt. 7.5 foot tree, and all of the others I looked at that were around that height had a 1000-1100 tips (needles) and this one has over 1600. I've still got some work left to do, the layers are still obvious, but it looks very nice. There are just a TON of branches on this sucker! Its very realistic. Pictures will be posted when I'm done shaping it.
I'm carseat shopping again. Mikayla is very very very close to being too tall for her seat. I'm debating what to get. The short story is - I'm debating between getting her a Husky (what Aaric has in the pic) or getting her either a Marathon or Boulevard. If the Boulevard has the modified foam available, to make more shoulder room, then I'd get it over the Marathon. Or if its crotch strap is shorter. So I have to check on those to decide on the M vs the B. Then I have to decide on the Husky vs M/B. If I get the M or the B, then New Baby (whenever it comes along) would inherit that seat, and I'd move Mikayla into a H then. And either get her a new one, or move her into the one we have now and move Aaric into a booster. Decisions, decisions. And I plan to but whatever I buy within the next month. and trust me, that's the short version.
My kitchen and dining room are clean. Next up - living room. and deciding for sure where the tree will go, because the dining room has the most space, but in front of the big plain wall or the window, its kinda in the way. I've got a spare corner in the living room. The final determination for that will probably wait until Michael gets home too.
Now I must go sweep the kitchen floor, again. Aaric just broke some styrofoam into itty bitty pieces all over my clean floor.
