Aaric and Mikayla had been playing and fighting all morning. Then I heard him ask her if she wanted to play Hide and Seek. She said "sure!" I wasn't paying attention after that. Too busy paying bills online. (I thought I'd switched insurance companies, and that my new one took it out of my account automatically. Turns out I did not switch insurance companies, so I almost got cancelled on the one I DO still have. oops.)
So, then Mikayla is sitting on the sofa and turned to me and said, slightly confused, "Mom, Aaric keeps sneaking and then comes to me."
"Yes, you're playing Hide and Seek with him, remember?"
"yeah, but he keeps sneaking to me!"
"Yes honey, thats how you play Hide and Seek. You hide, he looks for you."
"yeah, but mom, he was sneaking."
"okay."
A few minutes later, I realize we haven't seen Aaric in a while. Duh, its her turn to seek. SO I encourage her to go look for him.
"I can't. I dont' know where he is."
"I know, you have to go find him. thats how the game works."
"I can't find him. He's hiding."
"okay then."
A few minutes later, as she's gone on with life and is exclaiming that she's going to eat the last piece of bread, I hear a muted yell from upstairs, "Mikayla, I'm in your closet!! Come find me!!"
She didn't hear. So I told her all secretive-like, "Mikayla, I think he's hiding in your closet! Go find him!"
She excitedly ran up the stairs.
Aaric requested that they pick a new game. And now he's eating that bread. And the new game apparently involves tossing the bread all over the living room. That certainly looks like a lot of fun.
