Its still missing. Well, thats what his dad said when I asked how he was doing. "well, he's missing half a finger."
The Dr in the ER had said he needed surgery. The doctor they went to see said it was fine, just let nature take its course and it may need surgery in a few months and they'd just wait it out. Like they want to let it heal up and then start the ordeal all over again a few months from now if it can just be operated on now? And he said to just come back in a week to have the bandage changed. Yuck. Michael's mom used to specialize in wound care - she wasn't happy at all about them wanting to leave the bandage unchanged for a week. So, they found a pediatric orthopedic specialist at Scottish Rite who can fit them in on Monday, but they needed a referral. But then, they got word from the insurance company that they should go see whichever doctor they need to go see, and they'll pay for it.
He's off the codeine, it was making him way too crazy. He's just on motrin now, and wants to know when his booboo is going to go away. :(
And Michael says to just get a real tree and we'll take it down Christmas evening. That sounds like not a lot of fun.
