The Opportunist

Xander begged for candy all night on Tuesday, after I'd bought it ONLY to send with the kids to school, like their teachers asked. It was peanut butter cups so he couldn't have any, even if I did want to sugar him up.

I had all the leftovers in a big tin. He was using it as a stool to climb up into my lap, when it fell over on it's side. I picked it up, but it was upside down, and the lid fell down, with the candy scattering all over the floor.

As I rushed to pick it all up, he grabbed at them over and over, trying to catch them before me, saying, "uh oh!" the whole time. Like, "oopsie, we spilled these, I'd better help you get rid of it all." Then he escaped with one, so I had to chase him down and get it back. I thought I had them all, when he got down on his belly, peered under the desk and said, "uh oh!"

I think the lesson he learned is, "when you find candy, stay quiet!"
