I looked in the mirror earlier today and noticed that I looked humongous. I thought surely I just didn't realize how big I looked. I just now looked at the pictures that I posted less than a week ago, and I've definitely added a good 10 inches.
Things are starting to come together for the baby. We've got a place for the baby to take naps in downstairs (my beautiful Happy Hangup baby hammock!), it just needs to have a hook installed so that we can actually use it. We ordered the carseat Friday, so it will be on its way soon. On Saturday, I bought a new diaper bag. We already have all the diapers we'll "need" since we cloth diaper and they're all still in great condition. I may wind up buying more eventually, but we have an over abundance of the ones for little bitty babies. Its once they get over 20 pounds that I have less selection. I still have the vast majority of Aaric's clothes from when he was a baby, so he's got clothes. Granted they're 6 years old, but he's a baby, he doesn't care! I tossed all the horribly stained stuff and the stuff that I never really liked in the first place.
So that doesn't leave much! In those first couple months, babies really don't need anything. I do have a shopping list of things to buy from myself/NFB that comes up to around $100, and I need to find someone to host a party so I pay less for shipping. I need a new sling, some baby wash and lotion, a wet sack for the dirty diapers for the diaper bag, one of our nice fleece changing pads, and a couple other little things. I WANT lots of other new stuff... but its all things I can live without.
Most importantly, we still need to hire a midwife. One day, I'll go into details about our "finding a midwife" journey... but I'd like to have a conclusion ready first!
